(Lauren Evans) Google Glass hasn't even publicly debuted, and already one local lawmaker is drafting a bill to have it banned behind the wheel.
Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, who in 2001 spearheaded legislation to outlaw the use of cell phones by drivers, is preemptively moving to give Google Glass the same treatment. "'Google Glasses' [sic] are becoming more and more popular and their use across the country is becoming widespread; however, no state currently has a strict prohibition on their use while driving," he said in a statement.
The impetus for the legislation came from California, where a woman was ticketed for "Driving with Monitor visible to Driver (Google Glass)."
