Second Undercover Cop Not Expected to be Charged in SUV Road Rage Incident

A second undercover cop, who was riding with the group of bikers who got into a violent road rage incident with an SUV driver on the West Side Highway, has finally broken his silence. 28-year-old Internal Affairs Bureau undercover cop Matthew Rodriguez met with prosecutors in Manhattan Wednesday morning and his lawyer said Rodriguez was "nowhere near the scene" when Lien was beaten, according to The Journal News.

“It appears that the District Attorney’s Office will discover, as we have known from day one, that there are no acts of criminality on behalf of Matthew Rodriguez,” Rodriguez's lawyer Pat Bonanno told The Journal News.

Another off-duty cop, Wojciech Braszczok, was arrested and charged with assault, riot and criminal mischief back on Oct. 8. The Journal News reports that no charges are expected to be filed against Rodriguez.

CBS's John Miller (via the NY Post) reports that more undercover cops will be coming forward to speak about the incident.
